Property Tax Appeal Update

Industrial and Commercial Property Tax Appeals

For 2016, it is possible to correct assessment errors at your local December Board of Review. However, you must check with your municipality regarding how to be properly included on the December BOR agenda. Time is of the essence.

December 31, 2016 will tax day for 2017. On that day, your local assessor determines your property’s taxable value, and we know what that means- higher taxes! You must act now to obtain an equitable assessed value for your business property. Let’s lower your taxes for 2017.

Tom will present your case- for lower property taxes- to your assessor, assist you with local boards of review, and may appeal your property tax assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal (the filing deadline for industrial/commercial appeals is May 31, 2017).

On appeal, you must have an appraisal or other compelling valuation evidence to be successful. Tom can help you obtain the evidence you need, however, time is of the essence. Get started today.
